Stirring it up.....

1- Big News in the world of the Davies Clan!!!!Ashley, that right, Ashley, not Justin is engaged. We are all so excited to have our favorite "Nate" in the picture.
2- Mason has agreed to pre-calendarize his wedding date before the proposal, just so I will be there! Now that's a good boy.
3- Jay Starley is a Counselor in the Bishopric of a Single ward at the University. The Bishop happens to be Bishop Monsen (as in you know who).
4- I have actually organized half of my "piles", and we are not talking hemorroids!
5- I actually spoke to a group of people touring the temple. I just don't "DO" public speaking! ahhugg! I survived and frankly I'm proud of myself for facing such fears!
6- I've almost got my valentines done....if only I had my Christmas presents completed for 2008! Oh well, I'm trying.
7-I have completed Penny's birthday present! Yes, that right for last year and because it took so much effort she said I could count it for this birthday also. I painted her bathroom that she had redone with new cabinets and tub. Wheww I am on a role.
8- Now if only Stephanie on "The Bachelor" can find a good man I will be settled. She was very classy on the show. When she got the boot, she didn't swear, or flip the finger to the other girls, just held their hands, they cried for her, and she spoke so well to Jason and the audience as she was leaving in the limo....now that's class!
9- Late add on.....I'm on mile 4.7 of 100. AT least I have started....I thought I better get in shape for the New York trip.....yeah, baby I'm spreading the news!

To Blog or Not to Blog

What do you blog about when you got nothin? My life is so boring all of a sudden. Not much work to do unless you consider me, cleaning my whole house and revamping my boring life, but anyway......All I know is that I have to get the Christmas blogs off the page and stir up a little excitement for the year.
I guess the biggest event so far at the Davies household is Mike turning 55 today. I am so boring that I didn't even take a pic of his party last night. Oh well, there is always my big party of 55 in March!
We could always take a look at the future events and see what happens there.....
Looking forward to:

*Hosting at the Draper temple this week.
*Taking George to the temple.
*Sending my valentines out to family.
*My 55th birthday extravaganza!
*Losing weight.
*Finishing Gina's Christmas present...maybe next Christmas?
*Going to New York with the girls. I can't wait to feel of Meagans' excitement, she almost emoed out at Christmas. She's way overdue for a break! (Of course it would be fun to take Karissa, but...)
*My 35th wedding anniversary in June.
* The trek with Mike's YSA ward. Like I could walk a mile...
*Lake Powell in July.
*Redoing my bedroom....whoa....way overdue!
*Selling our flip house....anyone interested in buying, during this economy?
*Kaitlyn studying abroad, and getting those 3 a.m. phone calls, long distance, about how she is dying from cramps.....

Christmas to remember!
Four things that stand out about 2008 Christmas.
1) Austin exceeding his last year talent by sliding 6, yes 6 quarters into one nostril for his portion of the talent show at Grandma Geneals.
2) The little grandkids opening their presents with such an air of newness and surprise.
3) Justin's present of a "real girl", Vicki. Multitalented and so accessible.

4) The excitement of the girls for their present from Mike and Me. Meagan was so overwhelmed she cried, laughed at herself for crying and then cried again. Hopefully when the present arrives she won't be disappointed.

Is this pathetic or what?
Yesterday was crazy and I felt like I didn't get anything done. I messed up at work, I traveled from one end of the city to the other on stupid errands and was just plain exhausted. I got home late, around dinnertime and told Kaitlyn to order Cafe Rio. When she returned home with the order it was wrong! I just started to cry a little because I was so frustrated.(Addendum: Aubs saved the day, (by way of Austin's request), and brought me a different Cafe Rio order, that was right! What a great girl!) Anyway I determined that in the morning I would get things accomplished. I got up fairly early and started to work. I felt really good about it when all of a sudden Good Things Utah said something that spurred a memory. I was an hour late for a business appointment! It was totally snowy, so I quickly determined to take Lil' Blue and her four wheel drive. I threw on some clothes, a little makeup and dashed down the stairs to look for my coat and gloves. Found my coat, but no gloves. In a panic I ran to the island to look for spare gloves. The only thing available was an orphan dirty leather glove and my blue oven mitt. Well in a pinch I can tell you it works! Even with mismatched gloves, this day was better than yesterday!
